I admit it. I’m a horrible blogger. Maybe it’s the 800 [I'm not joking with this number] Russian spam bot comments that I’ve accumulated and just spent half an hour of my class time deleting. The $5 a month for Akismet API is looking more and more appealing. Just as I’ve written these first couple of sentences, I’ve gotten three more spam comments.

And, yes, I’m at school! Hooray, fancy iMac and delightfully fast connection – don’t worry, I’ve already finished my flash project and I’m just waiting for 12:30 to hit so I can leave this class. My computer at home is wonderful but my connection is absolute crap and my monitor has this funky texture on it, so.

But I want to be a better blogger and I’m honestly going to force myself to make this a ritual. Not only do I enjoy the writing aspect of this, but the entire process [once you get past the spam bots] is so delightful and relaxing. My life isn’t the most exciting but it’s jumbly inside my head and I have to pour these thoughts out somewhere. Besides, sometimes I do cool stuff. Just takes me forever to update, but NO MORE. I promise.

Let’s see, life changes, life changes..

- I turned 26! I wouldn’t recommend it. I’m ignoring that the entire thing happened and it’s only downhill from here.

- Speaking of my birthday, I spent it getting ripped off while purchasing a car from a guy on Craigslist and then waiting outside the DMV for the boyfriend to get his license back. It’s an ’87 Nissan Maxima with dark blue sparkle paint and not a chance in hell of passing smog. It also needs a new timing belt, brake pads, thermostat and water pump and I think, if my spider senses are working correctly, the back left brake rotor needs to be replaced. It’s a piece of crap and yet somehow, it’s endearing. Someone already tried to break into it by taking a crowbar to my sunroof! Aww, thanks, would-be burglar, but maybe next time steal from the people who look like they actually have something of value and not the piss-poor community college student? I now have to duct tape the weather stripping so it doesn’t rain in my car. AWESOME. I’m remarkably cheery about all of this, actually.

I mean, really, what are you going to steal from me? My collection of burned CDs? My mildly-busted faceplate? The pink and gold Gloomy Bear hanging in the back window? THE CAR ITSELF? Yeah, the noise of the brakes being metal on metal would wake me out of a dead sleep. You’re better off stealing a bag of flaming dog poop, it’s a better investment.

- I’m no longer a part of Crazed Imaginations Rocky Horror Picture Show. Six. Long. Yurrs. And it’s over. ONWARDS!

- I got my first tattoo! Apparently everyone LIED when they said your wrist wasn’t that painful. THANKS, GUYS. <3 I almost bit a hole in my lip. There were a few times when the pain let up and I stopped swearing excessively and peeked at what the artist was doing - it was fascinating! I would really love to learn to tattoo but it's so difficult to find an apprenticeship and I don't know if I trust myself enough with someone else's skin. Needless to say, I'm addicted. I want more.

- I cut my hair drastically. I've had the same haircut for years, so this is.. odd. I go from being EXCESSIVELY HAPPY about my haircut to sobbing hysterically and clawing at the shorter side of my head. Are all girls this bipolar about their hair?

- I've been an ovo/lacto vegetarian since January. I feel so much better but I also feel like all I eat is cheese and zucchini.

- I may be moving to Los Angeles. Or Chico. Or Portland, even. I have till May to decide. I love you all in SD, but I need to get out of here. It's suffocating me. Now that I have the opportunity, I'm taking it.

- Royksopp's Junior/Senior albums are AMAZING. amazing. It's been on a constant rotation on my mp3 player for days.

Yep.

Alright. Off to get ripped off and spend $6-something on the only Vegetarian item in the student cafeteria that ISN’T a bag of potato chips or a pretzel.

So, I’m a jerk. but. Here goes.
First off, I’d like to thank everyone that came by my booth and all the friends I made!

Big thanks to!:
- Last Gasp for their exhibitor mixer – I ate all of your strawberries, I admit it. I also drank all of your Stella Artois. I met so many wonderful people but I mostly attribute that to the fact that I was wearing a giant bow on my head and mildly tipsy. I think I walked away with a business card and a hug from everyone in this place. I also smoked way too much in front of the building, but at least I was helpful to all the lost exhibitors trying to find the party, RIGHT?

- My roommates Rachel and Mikey who run Poseur Ink for hauling all of my booth crap up with them – there’s no way I would’ve fit it all on the plane! Also, for being good booth neighbors and lending me standees.

- My BFF Emily, Dan Ciurczak of VIBE, Daniel Stone of GRIMM [pimp pimp] – BIG BALLS BILLIONAIRES taking over. I had an amazing weekend and I love you all. Next year will be even MORE epic.

A wild Emily has appeared! Emily casts ADORBZ. It is super effective!

- STORM of Stormantic and Heroic Tarot – You were a wonderful drunken dance partner till my fat little legs felt like they were jell-o. Thank you for being so supportive and buying my XMEN art and featuring me on your blog! You really made me feel like a part of the “comics cool kids club” [herp derp] and made me a lot less nervous.

- My babies in Toy Samuraiz. I’m lame and old and it’s so amazing to see such drive, talent and potential in youth. I want to be your comics mommy and hopefully a good mentor. ;o; KEEP IT UP. [I'm creepy.]

I admit, this has taken forever. I’m an asshole, I apologize. Despite having the worst booth spot in the world [it wasn't my neighbors! you were great!] – I was facing the bathroom. No one wants to look at art when they’re about to pee themselves. – I had an incredible reception.

LOOK AT THIS GUY. YOU WANT TO BE AS COOL AS THIS GUY.

SERIOUSLY?! YOU ARE SO CUTE.

These are actually the cutest people on the planet. I'm sorry I didn't get your names, I was actually intimidated by the level of cute.

People walking up to me and getting EXCITED about my art in front of me? Happily handing me money and putting my felt pins on right then and there, smiling and telling me how inspiring they find my work. Are you kidding me? I thought I was going to cry. I ended up in the hole a few hundred dollars but that was my own fault – and honestly, it was completely worth it.

Anyway, to all who visited me, if you walked away empty handed or not, if you loved or hated my work, thank you for even taking the time to stop and notice what I pour my heart into. My art [this is vomit inducing, isn't it?] is a piece of me and putting it on a table in the middle of a giant convention hall makes me nervous and vulnerable.

SO AMAZING. SO detailed! I’m sorry that I don’t have any information on the person who did it, but. These are so great and my kind of nerdy.

They’re based off of images not only from the show but from illustrations done by Naoko Takeuchi as well. I couldn’t even eat these, they’re awesome.
